Target Information
Matrix Metalloproteinase 10 (MMP-10), also known as Stromelysin-2, can degrade fibronectin and types I, III, IV, and V gelatins, and has limited activity on collagens III, IV, and V. It is involved in activating procollagenase. In mice, MMP-10 serves various roles, including tumor development, angiogenesis, liver regeneration, inflammatory response, and tissue repair. The MMP-10 gene is crucial in lung tumor formation in Kras mutant mice. Research indicates that mice lacking the Mmp10 gene exhibit significantly fewer tumors and reduced tumor volumes, with a lower proportion of low-grade lung cancer lesions and a higher proportion of high-grade lesions.
