Target Information

Macrophage migration inhibitory factor, also known as MIF, is a pro-inflammatory cytokine that plays a crucial role in the innate immune response to bacterial pathogens. As an essential immunomodulatory factor, MIF supports the survival and function of macrophages by inhibiting p53-dependent apoptosis. It suppresses p53 activity via an autocrine pathway, thereby reducing apoptosis and enhancing the pro-inflammatory capabilities of macrophages. MIF has diverse biological functions in mice, contributing to immunomodulation, inflammatory responses, tumor development, and the pathological processes of various diseases.
