Mouse Lin-28 Homolog A (LIN28A) ELISA Kit-Sandwich

Protein lin-28 homolog A is an RNA-binding protein that inhibits the processing of pre-let-7 miRNAs and regulates the translation of mRNAs involved in developmental timing, pluripotency, and metabolism. It appears to recognize a structural G-quartet (G4) feature common to its miRNA and mRNA targets. In mouse neural progenitor cells (NPCs), Lin28a is abundantly expressed and plays a crucial role in the proliferation and differentiation of neural stem cells. Lin28a modulates the Igf2-mTOR signaling pathway by interacting with Igf2bp1 (Imp1), thereby enhancing NPC proliferation and neuron formation. A knockout of Lin28a leads to abnormal brain development in mice, evidenced by reduced cerebellar volume and a decreased number of neurons, whereas overexpression of Lin28a results in an increased number of NPCs and larger brain size.
