Target Information

Left-right determination factor 2 (LRDF2) is essential for establishing the left-right asymmetry of organ systems in mammals. In mice, LRDF2 is primarily involved in the formation of left-right asymmetry during embryonic development. Research on mouse embryonic stem cells (mESCs) has revealed that miR-127 regulates the expression level of LRDF2 (Lefty2) by targeting it directly. Experiments indicate that miR-127 can significantly decrease the mRNA and protein levels of Lefty2, thereby diminishing its inhibitory effect on the Nodal signaling pathway. LRDF2 plays a crucial role in the gastrulation process of mouse embryos, and its expression pattern is intimately linked to the embryo's left-right orientation.
