Interferon beta is a type I interferon cytokine crucial in the innate immune response to infections, tumor development, and other inflammatory triggers. It signals by binding to high-affinity (IFNAR2) and low-affinity (IFNAR1) heterodimeric receptors, thereby activating the canonical Jak-STAT signaling pathway.
