Target Information

The inhibitor of nuclear factor kappa-B kinase is a serine kinase crucial for the NF-kappa-B signaling pathway. This pathway is activated by various stimuli, including inflammatory cytokines, bacterial or viral products, DNA damage, or other cellular stresses. In mice, the inhibitor of nuclear factor kappa-B kinase subunit beta is encoded by the Ikbkb gene. The function of IKKβ in mice involves its regulation of the NF-κB signaling pathway, which plays an important role in inflammation, immunity, tumors and metabolic diseases. Inhibitors of IKKβ have shown potential in the treatment of inflammatory diseases and tumors.
