Target Information
Immunoglobulin (Ig) G4 is a subclass of IgG known to exhibit inhibitory functions in specific contexts. This is due to its ability to perform Fab-arm exchange, its inability to form immune complexes, and its lack of antibody-dependent and complement-dependent cytotoxicity. Immunoglobulin G4-related disease is a systemic, immune-mediated fibroinflammatory condition, characterized by organ dysfunction or mass lesions with lymphoplasmacytic infiltration occurring in one or more organs. Research on IgG4 in mice reveals its multiple roles in immune regulation, allergic diseases, autoimmune diseases, tumor immunity, and parasitic infection.
