Target Information

Hyaluronidase catalyzes the breakdown of high molecular weight hyaluronic acid into intermediate-sized products, which sperm hyaluronidase further hydrolyzes into small oligosaccharides. This enzyme exhibits very low levels of activity. It interacts with and negatively regulates MST1R. In mice, hyaluronidase serves multiple biological roles, such as facilitating sperm penetration of the cumulus cell layer, contributing to embryonic development, promoting tumor metastasis, regulating the immune system, and supporting cardiovascular health. Additionally, hyaluronidase plays a role in various physiological processes, including the maturation of adipose tissue and the inflammatory responses in the skin and colon, among others.
