Mouse Forkhead Box Protein O3 (FOXO3) ELISA Kit-Sandwich

Forkhead box protein O3 functions as a transcriptional activator by recognizing and binding to the DNA sequence 5'-[AG]TAAA[TC]A-3'. This protein regulates various processes, including apoptosis and autophagy. In skeletal muscle, it promotes autophagy by entering the nucleus of starved cells after dephosphorylation, where it binds to the promoters of autophagy-related genes like GABARAP1L, MAP1LC3B, and ATG12, thus stimulating their expression and leading to proteolysis of skeletal muscle proteins. Additionally, Foxo3a is crucial for ovarian development in mice. Research indicates that mice lacking Foxo3a exhibit widespread activation of ovarian granulosa cells, resulting in oocyte death, depletion of functional follicles, and subsequent infertility. This demonstrates Foxo3a's significant role in preventing premature follicle activation.
