Mouse Follistatin Like Protein 1 (FSTL1) ELISA Kit-Sandwich

Follistatin-related protein 1 (FSTL1) is a secreted glycoprotein involved in various physiological processes, including angiogenesis, immune response regulation, and cell proliferation and differentiation. It plays a crucial role in the development of the central nervous system, skeletal system, lungs, and ureter. Acting as an antagonist of the BMP4 signaling pathway, FSTL1 is pivotal in mouse lung development. It negatively regulates the BMP4/Smad1/5/8 signaling pathway, inhibiting the expression of surfactant genes, which in turn affects alveolar maturation and airway formation. Mice deficient in FSTL1 exhibit abnormal tracheal cartilage formation, immature differentiation of alveolar epithelial cells, and alveolar collapse, leading to respiratory failure and death shortly after birth.
