Target Information
Fibroblast growth factor 11 (FGF11) is likely involved in the development and function of the nervous system. In mice, FGF11 has wide-ranging and diverse roles, spanning tissue development, wound healing, and disease regulation. It plays a crucial role in mouse tooth development, with studies showing increased FGF11 mRNA expression during key stages of tooth formation, particularly in the epithelial signaling center and the epithelial-mesenchymal interface. Additionally, FGF11 expression rises significantly during full-thickness skin wound healing, suggesting its involvement in tissue repair and regeneration. Under hypoxic conditions, FGF11 enhances the formation of capillary-like tubular structures by upregulating HIF-1α promoter activity. This is mainly achieved by boosting the expression of tight junction proteins such as ZO-1, occludin, and claudin-5, thereby stabilizing the capillary structure.
