Target Information

Protein FAM3B induces apoptosis in alpha and beta cells in a dose- and time-dependent manner. It is expressed in pancreatic β cells and co-secreted with insulin. Research indicates that FAM3B plays a significant role in the development of insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes by inducing apoptosis of pancreatic β cells and affecting insulin secretion. For instance, overexpression of FAM3B results in increased apoptosis of pancreatic β cells and reduced insulin secretion, whereas FAM3B knockout mice demonstrate improved insulin sensitivity and glucose tolerance.

Target/Biomarker Mouse FAM3B
