Target Information
Extracellular matrix protein 1 (ECM1) is a key player in endochondral bone formation by negatively regulating bone mineralization. It encourages the proliferation of endothelial cells and supports angiogenesis while inhibiting the proteolytic activity of MMP9. ECM1 is also crucial in the immune system, particularly in the differentiation of T follicular helper (TFH) cells. By inhibiting the IL-2STAT5-Bcl6 signaling pathway, ECM1 promotes TFH cell differentiation and antibody production, acting as a positive regulator of TFH cell function. Additionally, ECM1's role in promoting endothelial cell proliferation and new blood vessel formation makes it a significant driver of tumor progression.
