Target Information

Dihydrolipoyl Transacetylase (E2) is a crucial component of the Pyruvate Dehydrogenase Complex (PDHc), playing a significant role in mammals. E2's primary function is to catalyze the transfer reaction between acetyl-CoA and dihydrolipoamide, resulting in the formation of S-acetylated dihydrolipoamide and free CoA. In mammalian models, such as mice, studying the functionality of PDHc is highly important. The PDHc in mice comprises E1, E2, and E3, with E2's structure and function resembling those in Escherichia coli. Research using mice has demonstrated that the activity and stability of E2 are crucial for maintaining normal energy metabolism.

Target/Biomarker Mouse DLAT
Target Synonym DLTA; PDC-E2; PBC; M2 antigen complex 70 kDa subunit; Dihydrolipoamide acetyltransferase component of pyruvate dehydrogenase complex; Pyruvate dehydrogenase complex E2
