Target Information

Deoxyribonuclease I-like 3, also known as Deoxyribonuclease gamma, is a highly efficient endonuclease capable of degrading extracellular free DNA (ecDNA) and chromatin. Research has demonstrated that DNASE1L3 can effectively cleave double-stranded DNA and chromatin through its distinctive C-terminal structure, a function essential to its role in the immune system. In mice, the absence of DNASE1L3 results in an abnormal length distribution of ecDNA in plasma, characterized by an increased proportion of longer DNA fragments, which may be linked to immune system activation and the development of autoimmune diseases.
