Target Information
CYP2B6 is implicated not only in PUFA metabolism and demonstrating anti-obesity effects in mice but also plays a crucial role in drug metabolism and gene expression regulation. The lack of CYP2B enzymes in mice is linked to obesity and NAFLD. Research indicates that Cyp2b-null mice experience more pronounced obesity, fatty liver, and higher triglyceride levels when on a high-fat diet. In mice, CYP2B6 functions differ by gender; for instance, male Cyp2b-null mice are more prone to obesity and fatty liver compared to females, while male hCYP2B6-Tg mice exhibit a more pronounced weight loss effect.
