Target Information
Cysteine-rich motor neuron 1 protein (Crim1) may contribute to central nervous system (CNS) development by interacting with growth factors involved in motor neuron differentiation and survival. It could also have a role in capillary formation and maintenance during angiogenesis. Crim1 is a transmembrane protein characterized by six vWF-type C-cysteine repeats, and it is broadly expressed during mouse embryonic development, particularly in organs such as the kidneys, eyes, heart, and limbs. The absence or dysfunction of Crim1 can result in developmental defects across multiple organ systems, including glomerular vascular dysplasia, structural kidney disorders, heart defects, and eye developmental abnormalities.
