Target Information
Corticotropin Releasing Hormone (CRH) is a regulator that controls the release of corticotropin from the pituitary gland. It induces NLRP6 in intestinal epithelial cells, potentially impacting the gut microbiota profile. In mice, CRH has a wide range of functions, including involvement in stress response, neuroprotection, cognitive regulation, and immune regulation. CRH plays an anti-inflammatory role by modulating immune responses, such as inhibiting the release of inflammatory factors like IL-1α and IL-6, thus preventing excessive inflammatory reactions. Additionally, CRH regulates the skin's response to stress, including reactions to ultraviolet radiation and immune cytokines, by interacting with CRH receptors in the skin.
