Target Information

The CD99 antigen is involved in T-cell adhesion and plays a critical role in the late stages of leukocyte extravasation, aiding leukocytes in traversing the endothelial basement membrane. It operates at the same site as PECAM1 but functions independently. In mice, CD99 has numerous biological roles, including facilitating cell migration, modulating inflammatory responses, supporting cell adhesion, inducing apoptosis, and participating in tumor-related processes. In mouse tumor models, CD99 is linked to tumor angiogenesis and growth. It is upregulated in tumor vascular endothelial cells, potentially promoting tumor growth by regulating the migration and proliferation of these cells.
