Mouse Cholinergic Receptor, Muscarinic 1 (CHRM1) ELISA Kit-Sandwich

The muscarinic acetylcholine receptor M1 is a receptor that mediates various cellular responses, including the inhibition of adenylate cyclase, the breakdown of phosphoinositides, and the modulation of potassium channels via G proteins. Its primary transducing effect is the turnover of phosphoinositides (Pi). In mouse models, Chrm1 knockout (cKO) mice exhibited enhancements in synaptic structure, such as increased expression of the synaptic protein Synapsin 1 and the glutamate transporter vGluT1, indicating that Chrm1 might support normal neuronal function by influencing synaptic plasticity. These Chrm1-deficient mice also showed improvements in cognitive tasks, such as better performance in the water maze task, potentially due to enhanced synaptic plasticity and improved neuronal function.
