Target Information

C-C chemokine receptor type 7 (CCR7) serves as a receptor for the MIP-3-beta chemokine. It plays a critical role in guiding lymphocytes from the bloodstream to lymph nodes and other secondary lymphoid organs by binding to ligands like CCL19 and CCL21. In CCR7-deficient mice, there is an impaired ability to effectively transport T cells and dendritic cells (DCs) to lymph nodes, leading to abnormal development and function of lymphoid organs. Moreover, CCR7 plays a role in the migration and localization of thymocytes, particularly facilitating the movement of positively selected single-positive thymocytes from the thymic cortex to the medulla.
