Target Information

Charcot-Leyden crystal protein acts as a cofactor in type II immune responses in mouse models. Research has demonstrated that injecting CLP into the airways of mice swiftly triggers a localized inflammatory response, characterized by the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β, IL-6, and TNFα, and the recruitment of eosinophils, neutrophils, and dendritic cells. Additionally, CLP can amplify inflammatory responses through the activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome. It enhances the IgE-mediated response to allergens and promotes Th2-type immune responses in mice. In mouse models, Charcot-Leyden crystal protein plays a significant role by boosting type II immune responses, participating in allergic reactions, and contributing to the formation of eosinophil crystals.
