Target Information
T-complex protein 1 subunit beta is part of the chaperonin-containing T-complex (TRiC), a molecular chaperone complex that facilitates protein folding through ATP hydrolysis. The TRiC complex aids in folding WRAP53/TCAB1, thereby influencing telomere maintenance. CCT2 plays a role in regulating cell proliferation, migration, and contraction in mouse colonic smooth muscle cells (mMCs) by modulating actin (F-actin) and cell contraction. Research has shown that CCT2 expression levels are linked to reduced cell contraction in glucose-induced hyperglycemia. The downregulation of CCT2 markedly inhibits cell proliferation and migration while decreasing the cell contraction rate, indicating that CCT2 is crucial for cell function, particularly in high-glucose environments.
