Target Information

CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein beta (C/EBPβ) is a crucial transcription factor that regulates genes involved in immune and inflammatory responses. It also plays a significant role in processes like adipogenesis, the gluconeogenic pathway, liver regeneration, and hematopoiesis. In mice, C/EBPβ is involved in regulating adipocyte differentiation, insulin resistance, liver regeneration, inflammatory responses, and reproductive functions. In diabetic mouse models, C/EBPβ expression is increased, which correlates with reduced insulin sensitivity. Moreover, C/EBPβ contributes to the development of insulin resistance by inhibiting the transcription of the insulin gene.
