Target Information
The Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor Repressor is encoded by the Ahrr gene in mice and plays a role in mediating dioxin toxicity, as well as regulating cell growth and differentiation. It suppresses the transcriptional activity of AHR by competing with this transcription factor for heterodimer formation with ARNT and subsequently binding to the xenobiotic response element (XRE) sequence in the promoter regulatory region of various genes. Additionally, it represses CYP1A1 by binding the XRE sequence and recruiting ANKRA2, HDAC4, and/or HDAC5.
