Target Information
Antithrombin (AT) is a crucial plasma protease inhibitor primarily responsible for inhibiting thrombin activity, which helps maintain blood fluidity. In mice, lacking or having a functional defect in antithrombin can result in severe physiological issues, including embryonic lethality and coagulation disorders. Deficiency in antithrombin can cause thrombosis and fibrin deposition while suppressing the expression of inflammatory factors such as IL-6, thus impacting inflammatory responses and tissue damage. In cases of intestinal injury caused by ischemia-reperfusion, supplementing antithrombin can effectively inhibit thrombosis and decrease the expression of inflammatory factors, thereby mitigating tissue damage.
