Target Information
Rat TGFb2 is a member of the TGF-β superfamily, characterized by a cysteine knot structure. It is a glycosylated protein that controls key physiological processes, including cell migration, proliferation, and differentiation. TGFb2 signals through a heteromeric receptor complex consisting of TGF-β receptor type I (TβR-I) and type II (TβR-II), mediating downstream effects via SMAD proteins. It is widely expressed in various tissues, such as cartilage, bone, muscle, and the nervous system. TGFb2 also plays a role in immune modulation and embryonic development.
