Target Information

Rat kidney injury molecule 1 (KIM-1) is a type I transmembrane protein highly expressed in the proximal tubules of the kidney. It is upregulated in response to acute kidney injury and serves as a biomarker for renal damage. KIM-1 plays a role in the repair and regeneration of renal tubular cells following injury. Its expression is associated with cellular stress and the initiation of repair processes. As a key indicator of kidney injury, KIM-1 is an important target for studying renal pathology, monitoring kidney disease progression, and developing therapeutic strategies to promote renal recovery.
