Target Information
ATF-4, a transcription factor dependent on cyclic AMP, binds to the cAMP response element (CRE). It serves two key biological roles: regulating metabolic and redox processes in normal cellular conditions and acting as a principal transcription factor during the integrated stress response (ISR). In mice, it is encoded by the Atf4 gene. In a high-fat diet (HFD)-induced NAFLD model, ATF-4 expression was upregulated. Studies have shown that the eIF2/ATF-4 signaling pathway plays an important role in the pathogenesis of NAFLD.
