Mouse 17-Beta-Hydroxysteroid Dehydrogenase Type 10 (HSD17b10) ELISA Kit-Sandwich

3-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydrogenase type-2 is a mitochondrial enzyme crucial for fatty acid, branched-chain amino acid, and steroid metabolism. It functions as (S)-3-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydrogenase within the mitochondrial fatty acid beta-oxidation pathway, which is a primary pathway for fatty acid degradation. The enzyme catalyzes the third step in the beta-oxidation cycle, facilitating the reversible conversion of (S)-3-hydroxyacyl-CoA to 3-ketoacyl-CoA. In mice, HSD17B10 (17β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase 10) is primarily involved in mitochondrial metabolism, neurosteroid metabolism, cell survival, and neurodegenerative diseases. Overexpression of HSD17B10 in mouse astrocytes can enhance recovery after ischemia-reperfusion injury and reduce mitochondrial superoxide production.
