Target Information

Lymphocystis disease, triggered by the iridovirus known as lymphocystis disease virus (LCDV), manifests as tumor-like lesions on the skin of affected animals. This condition is often linked to environmental factors and the stress associated with intensive fish farming conditions. The virions contain a single linear double-stranded DNA molecule that is circularly permuted, terminally redundant, and heavily methylated.
