Target Information

Listeria ivanovii is a species of bacteria within the Listeria genus. These rod-shaped bacteria do not produce spores and test positive under Gram staining. Infection with L. ivanovii can result in septicemic disease accompanied by enteritis, neonatal sepsis, and even abortion. While L. ivanovii is most commonly found in sheep, it can be transmitted to humans through food items like fresh cheese.
