Infectious spleen and kidney necrosis virus (ISKNV) is responsible for a widespread and severe disease in fish. ISKNV infection leads to epidermal lesions, characterized by prominent petechial hemorrhages and abdominal edema. The most affected tissues during ISKNV infections in fish are the spleen, brain, kidneys, and gastrointestinal tract.
