Target Information
Rabbit vascular endothelial growth factor C (VEGF-C) is a secreted homodimeric glycoprotein of the VEGF family, a core regulator of vascular and lymphatic endothelial cell biology. It features a conserved N-terminal signal peptide for secretion, a central VEGF homology domain with heparin-binding motifs, and a C-terminal propeptide critical for protein maturation. It localizes predominantly to the extracellular matrix of rabbit lymphoid tissues and vascularized organs, with negligible expression in avascular connective tissues. The protein mediates receptor binding via its dimeric structure, with conserved functional domains differentiating it from VEGF-A and VEGF-D isoforms.
