Target Information
Rabbit cluster of differentiation 4 (CD4) is a transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on immune cells, a core regulator of T-cell activation and antigen recognition. It features four conserved extracellular immunoglobulin-like domains, a single transmembrane region, and a cytoplasmic tail critical for signal transduction. It localizes predominantly to the plasma membrane of rabbit helper T lymphocytes, dendritic cells and monocytes, with negligible levels in non-immune cell populations. The protein mediates MHC class II molecule binding and TCR complex stabilization, with conserved motifs for recruiting tyrosine kinase Lck. Rabbit CD4 shares core functional domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct immune regulatory specificity differentiating it from CD8 and CD3.
