Target Information

Caveolin-1 (CAV1) is a protein encoded by the CAV1 gene in goats. It serves as the main component of caveolae, which are tiny invaginations found on the plasma membrane of most cell types. It is generally thought to function as a cell surface protein, for example in the formation of caveolae. Research has shown that CAV1 can be released from cells into exosomes and exert systemic effects.
