Target Information

Fowl adenoviruses are non-enveloped, double-stranded DNA viruses that belong to the Adenoviridae family, under the genus Aviadenovirus. They are currently categorized into five species (A-E) and 12 serotypes (1-7, 8a, 8b, and 9-11) based on genomic criteria and serum cross-neutralization tests. FAdV-2/11 from species D and FAdV-8a and FAdV-8b from species E are linked to the occurrence of inclusion body hepatitis.
