Target Information
Feline Indoxyl Sulfate is a potent protein-bound uremic toxin derived from the microbial metabolism of dietary tryptophan in the feline gut. In veterinary nephrology, IS is a critical biomarker for the progression of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), as its accumulation strongly correlates with renal fibrosis and tubular atrophy. By activating the Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor (AhR), it induces oxidative stress and inflammatory cytokines in feline renal cells. It is widely used to study uremic syndrome and therapeutic interventions in domestic cats.
