Target Information

Clusterin is encoded by the CLU gene in cats. Clusterin (CLU) acts as an extracellular molecular chaperone, binding to misfolded proteins in bodily fluids to neutralize their toxicity and facilitate their cellular uptake via receptor-mediated endocytosis. Once internalized, the CLU-protein complexes are directed to lysosomes, where they undergo degradation.
