Target Information

Ethinylestradiol is an extremely potent synthetic estrogen originally designed for human oral contraceptives and hormonal therapies. In the livestock and aquaculture industries, it has historically been used illegally as a growth-promoting agent to artificially accelerate weight gain and improve feed conversion efficiency in food-producing animals. Due to its high stability, resistance to metabolic breakdown, and strong estrogenic activity, it can readily accumulate in animal-derived products like meat, milk, and eggs. Because dietary exposure to even trace amounts of EE2 can cause severe endocrine disruption, reproductive disorders, developmental issues, and increased carcinogenic risks in humans, its use in food animals is strictly banned by global regulatory bodies.
