Target Information

Interleukin 13 is encoded by the IL13 gene in horses. It plays diverse roles in the immune system and various physiological processes. IL13 is a mediator of allergic inflammation and is associated with diseases like asthma. IL13 was one of the first cytokines identified to orchestrate Th2 inflammation. It is a pleiotropic cytokine originally cloned from activated human T lymphocytes.
