Target Information
Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) is a hormone produced by the hypothalamus that plays an important role in regulating the reproductive system. GnRH is synthesized and released from GnRH neurons within the hypothalamus. It constitutes the initial step in the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis. GnRH regulates the secretion of FSH and LH, which are essential for reproductive function. The KiSS/GnRH1 system is present in horse Leydig cells and modulates their endocrine activity.
