Target Information

Lipopolysaccharide (LPS), a key component of the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria, is one of the most powerful inducers of pro-inflammatory cytokines, including tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, interleukins (IL)-1, IL-6, and IL-12, in monocytes and macrophages. Known as tumor necrosis factor-alpha, Lipopolysaccharide Induced TNF Factor is encoded by the LITAF gene in ducks.
