Target Information

Interleukin 22 is encoded by the IL22 gene in ducks and is an α-helical cytokine. IL-22 binds to a heterodimeric cell surface receptor composed of IL-10R2 and IL-22R1 subunits, which is expressed on tissue cells but absent on immune cells. IL-22 is produced by various populations of immune cells at sites of inflammation. Research indicates that IL-22 and IL-17A are likely expressed in different cell types during R. anatipestifer infection.
