Target Information

Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) is a widely used plasticizer that increases the flexibility of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastics and enters the animal-derived food chain primarily through environmental pollution and food contact materials. DBP can migrate into fatty foods such as milk, meat, and eggs from plastic milking tubes, conveyor belts, packaging films, or contaminated livestock feed. As a known endocrine disruptor, chronic exposure to DBP residues poses serious reproductive and developmental toxicities to humans, particularly affecting the male reproductive system, which has led to strict regulatory limits on its migration into foods.
