Target Information

Clostridioides difficile is a bacterium notorious for causing severe diarrheal infections and has also been linked to colon cancer. It infects pigs, calves, and humans, residing naturally in soil, feces of domestic animals and humans, sewage, the human gastrointestinal tract, and retail meat. TcdA is thought to be one of the primary virulence factors responsible for disease symptoms of C. difficile.
