Target Information

Chlamydia trachomatis is a Gram-negative, anaerobic bacterium known for causing chlamydia and trachoma. As an obligate intracellular pathogen, it replicates exclusively within host cells. C. trachomatis is the leading infectious agent linked to blindness caused by trachoma. Additionally, it affects the eyes by causing inclusion conjunctivitis and accounts for approximately 19% of adult conjunctivitis cases.
