Target Information

Pigment epithelium-derived factor (PEDF), also known as serpin F1 (SERPINF1), is encoded by the SERPINF1 gene. PEDF has multiple functions, including antiangiogenic, antineoplastic, and neurotrophic properties. In a chicken model infected with Salmonella Enteritidis, SERPINF1 decreased both in the liver and serum, which might be a marker of chicken health status.
