Target Information

Stearoyl-CoA desaturase (SCD) is a rate-limiting enzyme for the synthesis of monounsaturated fatty acids and a key control point for regulating hepatic fat production and lipid oxidation. Changes in the activity of this enzyme can lead to abnormal lipid metabolism, which can cause various diseases related to fat metabolism. In chickens, abdominal fat deposition was related to acetyl CoA and glycerol metabolism through SCD and other genes.
