Target Information
Platelet-Derived Growth Factor (PDGF) is a dimeric glycoprotein that plays several essential roles in cell growth, division, and blood vessel formation. PDGF is a potent mitogen for cells of mesenchymal origin, including fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, and glial cells. Platelet-Derived Growth Factor is encoded by the PDGFC gene in chicken. Platelet-derived growth factors are known for their role in cardiovascular development. PDGF-C acts as a fibroblast mitogen.
